Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

It is required by the vendors that all RSVPs are sent by September 15, 2024.

Question

Where should I book lodgings?

Answer

To be closest to the venue and the rest of the wedding party and guests, we recommend staying in Lynchburg, VA or Forest, VA. Hotels we have stayed in or that come recommended by the venue are in the "Travel" tab. Airbnb is also very popular in this area.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please be sure to arrive around 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony so that guests may be seated. Please see the "Schedule" tab for details. If you need special accommodations, please let the bride and groom know prior to the day of and arrive with plenty of time for seating. Per venue policy, late arrivals will not be permitted into the ceremony space and will be asked to remain in their vehicle until the ceremony is over and cocktail hour has begun.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception at the venue?

Answer

There is a gravel parking lot near the reception space. Please follow the signs to the top of the mountain where a greeter will direct you to the parking lot. From the parking lot there is a walk to the ceremony that is on dirt/gravel road and is uphill. There are golf cart shuttles available to all guests from the parking lot to the ceremony and then back to the reception space. Priority is given to elderly, pregnant, disabled, or injured guests to get to the ceremony first and find adequate seating.

Question

Is the venue accessible?

Answer

The venue is on top of a mountain and several walking areas are steep. The paths are gravel. Golf carts are provided with priority given to those with accessibility concerns from the parking to the ceremony and then back to the reception. The ceremony will be outside while the cocktail hour and reception will be both inside and outside weather depending. There are bathrooms on site at the reception. They are outside the reception space to the left when facing the entrance. Both bathrooms have a handicap stall that is wheelchair accessible if need be, but it is over gravel path to get into the restroom. Please reach out to the bride and groom for more information or accessibility concerns.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please list your food allergy or sensitivities when you RSVP on the website or contact the bride, groom, or mother of the bride for special concerns. For vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc. diets also put this information in the RSVP. Options for food will be provided once details are finalized, but special meals can be prepared for those with allergies to certain food products.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Formal attire, please. For this time of year in Forest, VA, we suggest: For women- long, floor to ankle length dresses that are of thicker, warm material. Long pants, blouse, and a coat. Please consider limiting heel height and avoiding stilettos due to steep inclines and dirt/gravel/grass walk ways. For men- suits or button downs with khaki pants. Temperatures at this time can vary from upwards of 65 degrees and sunny to below freezing, but it is almost always very windy at the top of the mountain. Please dress according to quickly changing temperatures as our wedding will go past sunset.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unfortunately, due to budget, space limitations, and the desire for a more intimate ceremony, we cannot allow all guests to bring plus ones that are not known well to both the bride and groom. Therefore, we regretfully ask that our guests to please not bring a plus one unless they are specifically named on the invitation. Thank you so much for understanding! Please contact the bride and groom with any questions.

We have paid for a professional photographer for our wedding that will capture the entire ceremony, so there is no need for personal photography. We ask that we be the first to upload photos to social media, but if you do upload any photos to social media, please tag us! :))
