Guided by her faith in God and proud of her Bengali heritage, she treasures culture, family, and tradition as the roots of who she is. Her compassion and depth of feeling also guide her work. Maitry holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Nursing and serves as a Pediatric Emergency Psychiatric Nurse, supporting children and families in their most vulnerable moments. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Counselling Psychology, continuing her dedication to healing, empathy, and connection. Beyond her career, Maitry cherishes love stories, values the bonds that shape us, and finds joy in travel, time with loved ones, and cozy evenings with her two cats, Nimai and Loki. He works as a psychiatric pharmacist with Fraser Health, supporting individuals and families through mental health challenges with compassion and collaboration. He takes pride in doing his work with care and respect. Outside of work, Tony enjoys travel, learning, gaming, and spending time with loved ones. He values meaningful conversations and building a life rooted in trust and connection. With Maitry, he has found a partner who brings warmth, faith, and depth into his life. Maitry’s family immigrated to Canada from Bangladesh in 2000, bringing with them devotion to God, a strong work ethic, and the bright, colorful spirit of their heritage. Their dedication, faith, and vibrancy have been guiding values in her life. Her father, Mrinal Kanti, is steady and fun, always bringing joy and balance to those around him. Her mother, Smriti Kana, is protective and guided by unwavering faith, the heart of the family’s strength. Her younger sister, Merry Nividita, fills their home with light and laughter, and is both sibling and best friend to Maitry. Together, they embody love, resilience, and faith. Their dedication and support have shaped the foundation of who he is today. His mother, Linda, is guided by kindness and compassion, always caring deeply for those around her. His father, Wilson, leads with responsibility and a strong work ethic, setting an example of perseverance and dependability. His sister brings energy and heart into the family, being outspoken, caring, and the one who filled their home with even more love by introducing their cats. These girls have been Maitry’s closest friends through different chapters of her life, and she is truly grateful for their generosity, kindness, and unwavering friendship. Arianne T. – Fun, generous, and hospitable, Arianne was one of Maitry’s first nursing friends. Their days as neighbours created some of Maitry’s favourite memories. Claire W. – Funny, genuine, and supportive, Claire first knew Tony in Pharmacy School before becoming one of Maitry’s dearest friends at work. Donna Z. – A childhood neighbour turned lifelong friend, Donna is hilarious, passionate, and warm. Their university bus rides home are still some of Maitry’s fondest memories. Hillary L. – Creative, loyal, and sweet, Hillary has been by Maitry’s side since grade 9, growing together through every season. Janette N. – Compassionate, protective, and loving, Janette has been a friend for over 20 years, walking with Maitry from elementary school through every milestone. Simran D. – Grounded and empathetic, Simran is a fellow nurse and confidante, always the voice of reason and reassurance. Maitry believes they’ve been friends since at least high school. Tony has so far not disclosed any further details. Allegedly they are intelligent, opinionated, and have been a constant part of his life. They allegedly make Tony happy, and therefore Maitry is graciously learning to tolerate them.

Our Cats
No celebration would be complete without mentioning Maitry’s beloved cats, Nimai and Loki, who bring endless joy, comfort, and laughter to their lives. Nimai is full of energy and personality — playful, curious, and always ready to cry out dramatically demanding attention. He keeps the household lively and never fails to make everyone smile with his antics. Loki, on the other hand, is the calm and cuddly one. Protective, affectionate, and endlessly sweet, he is happiest curled up close, purring softly and watching over his family with gentle eyes. Together, Nimai and Loki are more than pets; they are cherished companions, constant sources of love, and an inseparable part of Maitry and Tony’s story.
