Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Kylie Mainey and Ryan Guard
Here are a few recommendations of things we love close to our venue. If you've never been to Portugal, we highly recommend spending at least two days to wander through Lisbon. The city is full of history and great food! Porto (in Northern Portugal) is also a great stop, as is Óbidos (a little medieval town closer to Lisbon). Though we haven't had the chance to visit ourselves, the Algarve region sounds delightful. Free walking tours are a travel favorite of ours, and we'd love to schedule one of those in Lisbon with whomever would like to join prior to the wedding! So stay tuned.

São Lourenço, Setúbal, 2925-901, Portugal

José Maria de Fonseca and Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal are two of the largest and most prestigious wineries in Portugal and just so happen to be right down the road from our venue! Each offers tours, tastings, and have their own museums and art exhibits.

Castelo de Palmela

Castelo de Palmela

Avenida dos Cavaleiros de Santiago e Espada, Palmela, Setúbal 2950-317, Portugal

There's still a whole town within these castle walls, so we would recommend starting at either the bottom or the top, and winding through on foot to see what you find! Don't miss: the palace gardens and bird cages (at the base of the castle - they are stunning), and Taverna da Tadeira (a restaurant somewhere in the middle). Get the best homemade pasta dish of your life for 10 euros, and a pitcher of black vodka sangria!
