Question

What's the Tea Ceremony and are we invited?

Answer

Think of it as a pre-wedding engagement party! The tea ceremony is considered the proper meeting of both families, where the groom and his parents ask the bride's family for her hand in marriage. It is the celebration of the union of the two families while honoring the parents, family, and ancestors. Our Tea Ceremony is scheduled for the Sunday before, on July 14th, at the bride's family house. We ask to celebrate this moment with our immediate family, close friends, and wedding party.

Question

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our American ceremony will be outdoors while the reception will be just a few feet away and indoors. We can't wait to celebrate with you at our beautiful venue, New Journey Farms!

Question

Is there parking available near your wedding venue?

Answer

Yes, there will be plenty of parking in the gravel lot! It's just a few feet walking distance from the venue. We'll be out in the country so you don't have to worry about city traffic or street parking!

Question

Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?

Answer

Yes! Please visit the Hotel Accommodation page on our website for more details!

Question

Will there be a shuttle to and/or from the hotel?

Answer

Unfortunately, we do not have a shuttle service to and from the hotel. From our experience, uber and Lyft in Lafayette have been promising so far!

Question

What is the dress code for your wedding?

Answer

Our wedding theme is timeless chic, modern, with a touch of Vietnam's rich culture to honor the bride's heritage. Our decorations will be neutral, but we want our guests to pop out! Our dress code is suits and formal attire. Summer colors and florals are highly encouraged! We ask that ladies do not wear white so the bride can have her special day.

Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus one or guest?

Answer

Due to our limited seatings, we regretfully cannot accomodate plus ones or additional guests unless it is specified on your invitation. These formal invitations will be mailed out a few months before the wedding date. Please don't hesitate to ask MaiHan directly if you have any questions!

Question

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Answer

Although we love your children, due to restricted numbers, we regretfully cannot accomodate additional children unless they are specified on your invitation. If your kids are regretfully not invited, we hope you'll understand and make this a date night as we'd love to celebrate with you!

Question

What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?

Answer

Our american ceremony will begin at 4:30 PM. We ask our guests to plan to arrive and seated at least 15 minutes prior to the ceremony. If you arrive late, we regretfully will have to ask you to wait until after the ceremony to join us.

Question

What time will your wedding reception end? Is there an after-party?

Answer

Music will end at 11:00 PM per the venue rules. Everyone will have to leave the venue no later than midnight. Please ask MaiHan directly about after-party plans! :)

Question

Will there be a time gap between your wedding ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes! This will be cocktail hour. Guests can help themselves to the open bar while the wedding party and immediate families are taking professional pictures before their reception entrance.

Question

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

Answer

Reception, yes! Ceremony? Not during it, please! We will be having a unplugged ceremony and ask our guests to not distract our professional wedding photographer, so that they can get the best possible shots without the interference of other flashes or mobile screens. Of course, at the very begining of the ceremony, our officiant will announce a time for our guests to snap a shot of the moment!

Question

Can I post wedding photos on social media?

Answer

Absolutely! We encourage you sharing this special moment of ours if you wish to! If anything, please share the images with us too!

Question

I have more questions about your wedding, who can I contact?

Answer

MaiHan! If you contact Kodi, he will probably direct you to MaiHan. :)
