I officially met Ali at my Aunt's Christmas party, where he was DJing. I mean, we basically grew up in the same community, but were never really acquainted. Internally, I knew that he thought I was super rude because I never really acknowledged his presence until that night. (Fun fact: Ali was my coach for a flag football team when I was in middle school. 😂) There was something about that night, though, that changed our dynamic. After the Christmas party, we started talking through Twitter since neither of us had the guts to ask for the other's number- I still have the screenshots of those conversations! At this point, I didn't really think I was interested in him until one day, he mentioned that he shared the same love for Hannah Montana that I do. When we finally started texting each other, I still wasn't fully convinced I wanted to actually date Ali. However, my friends INSISTED I pursue a relationship with this guy... I’m convinced they only liked him because of the color of his eyes. *eye roll* Having my friends push me into giving Ali a chance led to the best decision I ever made in my life. Now I get to marry this loving, supporting and crazy goofball that I call my best friend!

We’ve practically known each other since forever but it wasn’t till midway through college we actually began to hang out. Through a few mutual parties and events, we realized this could be something more. It was Christmas of 2012 where I DJed her aunt’s party. Me, being the shy one, I definitely didn’t ask for her number but I did reach out through Twitter. Wasn’t that the cool thing to do? Even then, something was holding us both back, but with the help of a few friends I was able to ask her out on a date during Valentine’s Day weekend in 2013. From then on, I’ve had the time of my life with this amazing girl. I’ve tried new foods, new drinks, and traveled more all because of her! And if you know me, it's not easy to make me try new things. Each day I’m with her is my new favorite day; and the day I look forward to the most is marrying her! Y’all, I’m marrying my best friend…you know what to do; MAKE SOME NOISE!
