Tyler and Maha were introduced through their mutual friend (who knew they would hit it off talking about the New England Patriots). Unfortunately, Tyler was very socially awkward and ignored Maha when they first met at Nationals Park in Washington, DC. Luckily they met again a few days later on the eve of becoming coworkers and had an immediate connection. Tyler asked her to get dinner one evening during the first week they worked together and they never looked back.
Tyler enlisted the help of Maha’s sisters to pick out a ring and plan a proposal in Maha’s favorite place, Wilmington, NC. Before they traveled down for the big weekend, Tyler’s sister took Maha to get her nails done under the guise of an upcoming party, insisting “everyone likes their nails grown out two weeks.” Once there, Maha’s sisters waited with cameras in the perfect spot along the riverwalk for the proposal. While walking there, Maha made sure to stop every 3 seconds to offer help to strangers taking photos or look out at the river, jeopardizing the lighting. They made it to the spot right at sunset when Tyler took her hands and asked to marry her. Maha exclaimed “are you serious?!?” and Tyler replied “Yeah, bro obviously.” The rest is history.
