How We Met

In the whirlwind of freshmen year move-in day, Maggie made an unexpected visit to Jonathan's room, she poked her head into his room looking for someone. Jonathan, surrounded by his family, couldn't help but wonder about the little Asian girl who had popped into his room. Throughout freshmen year, they would cross paths in the hallways and common room. Maggie vividly remembered Jonathan's pink (or "salmon," as he insists) V-neck, light grey skinny jeans, and his teal blue Jansport backpack. Jonathan on the other hand thought nothing about Maggie. The real turning point came on Halloween when they were told to partner up with the opposite gender to balance out the boy-girl ratio to get into a frat party. And, unbeknownst to Maggie, Jonathan boldly exclaimed, "I'll partner up with Maggie!" In Jonathan’s head he thought she looked cute in her costume, while Maggie was beyond confused why he chose her. They made their way to the party and after about 30 minutes at the event, Maggie decided she'd had enough and wanted to leave. Without hesitation, Jonathan offered to walk her back to their dorm. Here's where the debate begins, and it's a debate that continues to this day. From Maggie's perspective, she didn't drink that day, so it couldn't have been her who initiated it. But from Jonathan's slightly tipsy viewpoint, he swears he felt Maggie's hand grab his first. So..who held whose hand first? Sometimes the most unexpected encounters lead to the greatest adventures. Our story is a reminder that love has its own sense of humor and timing and can be found in the most unexpected places and moments.
