We both did circus (Maggie on trapeze, Graham on silks) at a place in Brooklyn called Big Sky Works. We did a couple shows there together and kept passing each other between classes before Graham finally asked if Maggie would want to "grab a drink sometime." We had sangria at a Spanish place down the street from Maggie's apartment in the West Village and afterward Graham walked her home like a gentleman and gave her a kiss goodnight. That's how she knew it was a date.
Maggie and Graham decided to go see the holiday show at Big Sky Works, where they had first met. A magician was performing that night and Maggie was wearing a gold, sparkly jacket. The magician, who was also very funny, asked for a "sparkly" volunteer and chose Maggie to be blindfolded on the stage. She wasn't sure what the magician was planning, when she finally took off the blindfold to reveal Graham on one knee on the stage, proposing in front of the audience. Maggie said yes, we kissed. And then -- we bowed. (We're not sure why but there was clapping so it seemed appropriate)
