How We Met!

Do you want Maggie's story or Gordon's??

Maggie's Version- Can you handle the truth?? So it was 2013 and I was working for the Texans as their intern and was looking for a more permanent position. I remembered that I had connected with a guy on LINKEDIN that worked for the Astros earlier in the year. We had messaged back in forth about our respective work places, but that was that. I reached out to that guy (Gordon) and asked how working for the Astros was going. I had seen online they were hiring for ticket sales staff so I thought I would use my network. Gordon messaged me back saying he remembered talking to me and that things were going well at the Astros. I asked him about the job they were hiring for and he said "let's meet up for drinks.. I'd be happy to tell you more" All I remember after that was thinking, "wow I'm really glad I met him" and BOY AM I GLAD!! Got the job and secured a boyfriend/best friend/ fiance/ everything I ever wanted :) THANKS LINKEDIN Gordon's Version-- In the Fall of 2013, I saw that a cute girl (Maggie) working for the Texans viewed my LinkedIn. I figured I'd shoot my shot, and messaged her--professionally of course. After all, this was LinkedIn, not Tinder. After a few messages, she completely ghosted me, so that was that. Fast forward to Spring of 2014, and this same girl messages me out of the blue on LinkedIn asking how I was liking the Astros, Now me being a smart guy, I immediately connected the dots and knew she was trying to use me to get an interview for the job we had just posted. Never one to waste an opportunity, I messaged her back saying, "I love it here, but if you are interested in the job we just posted, we should meet up for drinks to discuss it more in person." Needless to say, that was a life changing conversation, and I am incredibly grateful for the best dating website in the world--LinkedIn!
