Valorraine and Maggie met while they were both studying abroad in Viterbo, Italy in 2011. It was basically sarcasm at first sight. Okay, maybe not, but they did bond over their love of Lord of the Rings, romance novels, cats, being a menace to entitled men, and all things pink. These days they don't get to see each other often due to distance but Maggie long ago adopted herself into Rainey's family, no refunds allowed.

Layne and Chanse met years ago through a mutual acquaintance and immediately hit it off. They love talking shit, watching terrible movies together, and doing that healing friend work. When Maggie entered the picture she also adored Layne and demanded that she come around more often. She is now a staple at their house parties (and not just because she makes the best Mac'n Cheese).

Maggie and Katie met during Band Camp in 2005 for Maggie's freshman year of high school. They were originally supposed to be band buddies, but Katie ditched her literally day one. Despite that crushing blow Maggie and Katie have been soul sisters basically ever since creating shenanigans throughout high school, college, post-college and adulthood. Few people can stand their combined weirdness but it is certainly entertaining.

Luis and Chanse met over 15 years ago through their shared love of the sport of Boxing. They have been friends ever since. They unfortunately do not get to see each other very often because Luis lives and works in NYC but we do our best to meet up as often as possible.

Chakir' and Maggie met in the most unlikely of places. The worst job ever. Chakir' was actually hired to replace Maggie when she finally quit and a few months later the two reunited when Kir' also decided to leave. Kir' helped introduce Maggie to the world of disability organizing and even formed the group chat that turned chosen family and saved Maggie's sanity during the initial shutdown of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Chanse and Anna met over a decade ago via a mutual friend, they bonded over various nerdy topics and have been friends ever since. Despite busy schedules and multiple life changes they always seem to connect when it matters. Anna is never shy about giving Chance a piece of her mind and vice versa.

Laury actually met Chanse years before she met Maggie and even before the couple themselves met. Chanse coached Laury in boxing for years before she and Maggie became friends through a mutual love of dance. Chanse eventually also became fast friends with Laury's husband, Joe, when they started dating several years ago. Both Chanse and Maggie were in Laury & Joe's wedding in 2024 and are devoted chosen aunt & uncle to Laury's son.

Joe came into our life when he began dating Laury and we decided he needed to stick around. He has quickly become like a brother to Chanse, and their sons are our nephews. Football watch parties, backyard bonfires, and aggressive games of Spades with Joe have made our life even richer.
