What is the dress code? What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is casual. Wear something you're comfortable in -- button-up shirt, long dresses, or whatever brings you joy.

What weather should I expect?

Answer

Of course, we can't guarantee anything, but we could get snow in Maine. Keep an eye on the weather here in Buxton, ME in the weeks leading up to the wedding.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

We do have the option to have the ceremony outside, weather permitting of course. Since we are getting married in the beginning of winter in Maine, the ceremony and reception will most likely be inside.

What should I expect after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the immediate family of the couple will be taking pictures outside for around thirty minutes. Guests can stay in the reception barn where snacks and drinks will be flowing. Dinner will be served around 5pm with dancing to follow.

Will transportation be provided? Is there easy parking at the venue?

Answer

We are not providing any formal transportation for the events. The ceremony and reception are in the same area and there is ample parking for those who feel comfortable driving. Lyft or Uber is a great option for those who don't want to drive. Please stay safe and default to a ride service or carpooling if you plan to drink.

We sure hope you'll be able to join us for our special day. With your invitation, there is a QR code on the back that will bring you to our website to respond.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We don't have a hotel block for guests since there are not many hotels local to Buxton. There are hotels in Westbrook / Portland area, Saco, Biddeford, South Portland. There is a bed and breakfast in Gorham called PineCrest Inn which would be the closest to the venue.

What type of food and drink will be served during the cocktail hour and reception?

Answer

We will be serving light snacks during cocktail hour, followed by a delicious dinner, and of course dessert.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We will have a bar but it will be cash.

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

We love photos! We do ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, we'd like that time to be unplugged. For the rest of the wedding, we encourage guests to take pictures but please refrain from posting them online until we do. We will have a QR code for you to upload all of your photos.
