After chatting for a bit, Aric asked Magen to dinner. She said yes and they agreed to meet at Texas Roadhouse. Before the date, she asked him if he minded that she was quite tall. He said he didn't mind at all. Magen was running late, which is just so very unusual, and Aric met her at the front of the restaurant. The first thing he said to her was, “ Wow, you are tall.” Magen laughed and they instantly had a connection. After the nervousness faded and they got to know each other more, they decided to go on another date. Aric later called Magen to ask if they could move their second date up a week because he had to see her again.

On May 26th, 2018, on a beautiful beach in Port Aransas, TX, a man with a hidden ring and a beautiful woman enjoyed a sunset. Magen strolled into the shallow water. Aric began to breathe heavily and asked Magen to close her eyes. Magen felt Aric’s knee hit the wet sand and he asked her to open her eyes. He withdrew a ring and asked Magen to continue to be the love of his life and asked her to marry him. At least that’s what he imagined occurred. If you ask him what happened, he recalls little as his mind went completely blank. Magen said yes and they turned around just in time to see a seagull fly away with her snacks.
