Wedding Location & Where to Stay Our wedding will take place on Mount Desert Island (MDI) in Bar Harbor, Maine, at the Bar Harbor Club (shown on the map). Where to Stay We highly recommend staying on Mount Desert Island to make the weekend easy and avoid long drives. Closest to the venue: Bar Harbor, Hulls Cove, Town Hill Still on the island (20–30 min): Southwest Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Seal Harbor, Tremont Anywhere on the island is convenient. If You Stay Off-Island: If you do choose to stay off the island, the only towns we recommend are: Trenton – about 20 minutes away Ellsworth – about 20–40 minutes away Anything farther will add a lot of extra driving. Important Note About Airbnb/VRBO Many rentals list “Acadia National Park” even if they’re not on the island. Some are in other parts of Hancock County, up to an hour away. To be sure you’re close, look for listings in: Bar Harbor, Mount Desert, Town Hill, Southwest Harbor, Tremont, Northeast Harbor, or Seal Harbor.
