Not necessarily, but we do recommend it! The whole island is beautiful, and areas like Southwest Harbor and Tremont offer a quieter, more peaceful vibe if that’s what you’re looking for. Just keep in mind that taxis and rideshares are limited, so staying outside of town may mean more driving and tougher parking in downtown Bar Harbor.
The ceremony starts at 4:30 PM at the Bar Harbor Club (111 West Street). Please plan to arrive 10–15 minutes early. Immediately following the ceremony, we’ll continue the celebration at the same location with cocktail hour and dinner.

Yes! The Bar Harbor Club lot has about 70 parking spaces, available on a first-come, first-served basis. It’s a paid lot, but guests attending the wedding will not be charged just let the Gatehouse attendant know you’re part of the wedding when exiting. If you’re staying at the Harborside Hotel (attached to the venue), your parking is already included. Other options: 1. Walk from Downtown Highly recommend staying in Bar Harbor! If you’re staying in downtown, the venue is most likely within walking distance. You can find a list of nearby hotels under the “Places to Stay” tab. 2. Use a Taxi or Rideshare Bar Harbor has local taxi services and limited rideshare availability (like Uber or Lyft). We recommend booking in advance, especially on busy summer weekends. 3. Carpool & Drop-Off If you're driving in or renting a car, consider carpooling with others and getting dropped off at the venue entrance to avoid parking concerns.
