Both Henry and Maelee grew up in a small town in Louisiana. Growing up they were always in the same places at the same time but, they never knew it. Our story starts when Henry got a job at a local gas station in town. For years, Maelee visited to this gas station with her parents until, one day she went in and everything changed. On December 26th 2015, The two were face to face; with butterflies fluttering in her stomach, she gazed into the blue eyed, dark haired boy, who she had never quite seen before. To the few that knew, that same boy had been quietly falling for her over the years as well. He even went as far as to tell his coworker, “I am going to marry that girl someday.” Fortunately, after countless visits and very awkward interactions, Maelee had gotten up the strength to ask Henry to go on a date with her. These two love birds dated for a while until, Henry went off to join the U.S Marine Corps. Although she was super proud of him, they both knew the distance would be very difficult and agreed to part ways. As the saying goes, ‘distance makes the heart grow fonder.’ Sadly, life kept them both busy giving them few chances to reconnect. On and off over the years the two love birds tried to make the distance work. It came down to a matter of the right person but the wrong time. Then one day, many years later, Henry and Maelee made the leap to conquer this distance head on and forge a path that only two people who were determined to make it work could. Henry left his life in North Carolina and Maelee left hers in Louisiana. In 2024, the couple moved to San Antonio, Texas and never looked back. After years of being apart, they soon realized it was as if nothing had changed and both knew they had truly found The One. Less than a year after they moved to Texas, that same blue-eyed boy got on one knee on December 26th, 2024 and asked that same girl he fell for all those years ago, if she would indeed, marry him.
