FAQs

Question

What does FAQ stand for?

Answer

Frequently asked questions.

Question

Is the rehearsal dinner for everyone?

Answer

The rehearsal dinner is for immediate family and wedding party only. We are very thankful for everyone who is traveling to be present for our union, but our wallets say thank you with a little less enthusiasm. (We hope you're laughing at our dry humor, we are truly excited and looking forward to hosting you!)

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal. According to google semi-formal is defined as meaning "that a tuxedo isn't required, but the event is still formal enough for one to be appropriate. He should wear: A tuxedo or formal dark suit and tie. She should wear: A long evening dress, dressy suit or formal cocktail-length dress,". Since google is our guiding light in all situations (right behind Jesus) we would hope this is also how you figure out what semi-formal means.

Question

Will there be alcohol at the wedding?

Answer

Jesus' first miracle was turning water to wine and although we wish that was an option, we will have to make due with an open bar of wine and beer.

Question

Will there be shuttles to/from the venue on the wedding day?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. There are too many people staying in a variety of places such as Air BNB's, VRBO's, and the hotel. Please have a designated driver and stay safe driving off the mountain. Keep the party going when you get back to Boone!

Question

Should we carpool to the venue?

Answer

Yes please! We ask that you try to fit as many people in your car as possible within legal and safety limits. There is limited parking and we don't want to be backed up on to the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is also a great way to meet new people and make friends.

Question

Can I bring my children to the ceremony/reception?

Answer

Only if they are well trained. But on a serious note, yes, of course! However, we will not be providing any type of childcare, so come prepared for the entire evening.

Question

Will I get altitude sickness at the venue?

Answer

No, this isn't the Rockies, unfortunately. However, if a kind donor would fund a venue of that type we would be open to relocating.

Question

Are your ceremony and reception at the same place?

Answer

Yes, both the ceremony and reception will be at the Sky Retreat (see Schedule tab above). Note to the anonymous donor from previous question: this is not a mandatory requirement if willing to fund both venues.
