Flight

Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP)

We recommend flying into Milan, Italy. There are two airports in Milan, the Milan Linate Airport (LIN) and the Milan Malpanesa Airport (MXP). The Milan Linate Airport puts you closer to Lake Como, but we recommend flights into Milan Malpensa as they will likely be cheaper because it is a larger airport.

Train

Taxi or Train from MXP Airport to Como

From the Milan Airport, collect your luggage and catch a train (1.5 hours) or taxi (45 min). The first train is the Malpensa Express and the second train is Trenord, though both trains are operated by Tre Nord and both are Regionale trains. We recommend using the Trenord app for buying tickets and checking schedules. If you prefer to buy a physical ticket, you must validate your ticket in the machine prior to boarding the train on the day of travel. Failure to do so can result in hefty fines collected on the spot! You should be able to buy the tickets for both trains at the airport rail station, either at a ticket office or using one of the ticket machines. You will take the Malpensa T1 line from the airport (MXP) to Saronno, about a 20 minute train ride. Then, you will get off the train and transfer to another train from Saronno to Como Broghi, about a 35 minute train ride. Google Maps is a great resource as well, and how Cam and Mady learned their way around Lake Como!

Funicular (Cable Car)

When you are ready to make your way up to Brunate for the wedding festivities, walk from Como Lago station (5 minutes) to the funicular that will take you up to Brunate
