If you know you will not be able to join us in Italy please let us know as soon as possible. Otherwise please RSVP by February 28, 2025.
Summer is peak season in Lake Como, from mid-June through July and August. 2025 is also the “Jubilee Year” for the Catholic Church, which may increase travel to Italy. Some hotels have generous cancellation policies. If you are unsure whether you’ll be able to attend, we suggest booking a hotel now and cancelling later if needed.
Lake Como isn’t just one city, but a region in Italy with many towns and villages. Brunate is located in Lake Como, close to the town named “Como.”
We recommend staying three nights to make the most of your trip here in Italy!
Our wedding will be adults only.
The average temperature in Lake Como, Italy in August is around 80°F, but can sometimes be even higher. July and August are the hottest and driest months of the year. However, temps can be 5-10° cooler up in Brunate, especially in the evenings.
We suggest, and kindly ask, that all guests wearing suits wear linen, tan, or light gray suits. Lighter fabrics will be more comfortable in the August heat. Cameron will also be wearing a light-colored suit, so we would appreciate if our guests and their plus-one’s can coordinate. For those wearing dresses, we recommend silk, satin, or chiffon. Bright colors are encouraged, but please no white or ivory.
Yes! You can download the “Trenord” app on your phone or you can buy tickets at most stations.
We recommend taking the funicular, a cable car from Como to Brunate. The tickets cost about £15, and the ride takes about 10 minutes. Once you reach the top, the venue is about a 50 foot walk!
Lake Como is very walkable, so we suggest you pack a pair of comfy shoes! To get from one town to another, we recommend taking the ferry across the lake. Ferry tickets can be purchased purchased at the port, or purchased in advance at this website (recommended): https://www.navigazionelaghi.it/en/tickets-and-timetables-lake-como/
Brunate is the closest option to the venue! You are welcome to stay in the town of Como, which is a more lively, bustling city with lots to do and see. If you are looking to extend your trip, Cameron and Madylan love the towns of Varenna and Bellagio too
