Balboa Park

Balboa Park is a 1,200-acre cultural park. In addition to open space areas, natural vegetation zones, green belts, gardens, and walking paths, it contains museums, several theaters, and the world-famous San Diego Zoo. There are also many recreational facilities, several gift shops, and restaurants within the boundaries of the park.

Super fresh and tasty sandwiches. Whatever, you do, DON'T FORGET THE SAUCE!

Donut Bar

Our favorite donuts in San Diego! Donut Bar is also close to the wedding venue so swing by and get some awesome donuts. Make sure to go early, there's always a line when they open, and they typically sell out by lunchtime.

Gaslamp Quarter

Gaslamp is a historical district in downtown San Diego. It is right next to the venue. There are lots of restaurants, bars, clubs, and events in the area.

La Jolla Shores

La Jolla Shores is a really pretty beach with lots of tourists. It was one of our favorite places in undergrad. If you want a less crowded beach, you can go to Del Mar, although crowds shouldn't be an issue in winter.

If you're looking for fun decor with the added bonus of great food, look no further. Do yourself a favor and get the "Surfin' California" burrito.

Old Town San Diego

Old Town is a cute and historic part of San Diego. It is the oldest part of San Diego and the first Spanish settlement in California. Lots of little shops, restaurants, and small museums are in the area.

Torrey Pines State Park

Torrey Pines is a beautiful and easy hike by the ocean. Nikki and I love it there! I also took her there before I proposed to her to throw her off my trail(pun intended). Lots of great views so bring a camera! Just an FYI, if you hike all the way down the trails to Black's Beach, clothing is optional. I am not joking. So don't freak out if you see naked old guys tanning by the water.

Vallarta Express

A classic, late-night pit stop for Mexican food. You can't go wrong with either the carne asada fries or the quesarito.
