The Beginning

a little persistence, a lot of nuggets…

It all started with a Facebook video. One summer day in August 2019, Madison scrolled upon a video Tyler had posted of himself singing. After realizing the two were Snapchat friends from years prior, Madison decided to “shoot her shot.” She asked Tyler if he would “serenade” her with a song and guitar, where Tyler proceeded to open the message and not respond for 20 minutes. Once he eventually responded, a fire of persistence lit up in Tyler. He tried for a couple of weeks to get Madison to agree to a date, but to her it was all just a fun game of chase. During Story Days at the end of August, Madison finally agreed to meet up with Tyler. When he first arrived to the Wagon Box in Story, he walked up to find Madison playing the tambourine on stage with the Dugan Irby Band. It was a love at first sight moment… for Tyler. It took a bit more convincing for Madison. The following week, the two chatted back and forth. When Labor Day weekend rolled around, Tyler mentioned he was going camping. With anticipation that he would reach back out when camping concluded, an entire week came and went before Madison heard from him. It turns out at that Tyler had a prior obligation that kept him from his phone, but she was sure that he had ghosted her. After establishing that Tyler was still determined to go on a date, Madison finally agreed. They met up at the movie theater. After the movie was over, Tyler tried his hand at a kiss that Madison quickly swerved and turned into a hug. They went their separate ways, and Madison still wasn’t convinced. Over the course of the next week, Tyler made it a point to bring Madison McDonald’s chicken nuggets almost every day. Tyler would stay up until the early hours of the morning trying to make an impression, even though he had to work at 6 am every day. Madison began to feel butterflies whenever Tyler was around. His persistence had paid off. It’s been six years since the beginning, and Madison and Tyler are so excited to celebrate with their closest friends and family as they enter their most exciting chapter yet.
