*****Hindu Ceremony FAQs*****

Answer

Question

What should I wear to the Hindu Ceremony?

Answer

Our South Indian Hindu ceremony has a semi-formal or Indian festive dress code, and we'd love to see our guests in either! Think bright, celebratory, and comfortable enough to sit, stand, and move around. For women: Saris, lehengas, or salwar kameez are all wonderful options if you'd like to wear Indian attire. If you prefer Western wear, a tea-length or semi-formal dress is perfect. For men: A kurta, sherwani, or other Indian festive outfit is great — or a button-down shirt and coat with slacks works just as well. A few notes: Indian celebrations love color, so feel free to embrace bright and bold tones! Out of respect for tradition, we kindly ask guests to avoid all-white or all-black outfits, and to keep shoulders and knees covered.

Question

Will there be food at the Hindu ceremony?

Answer

Yes — come hungry! We'll have breakfast, snacks, and refreshments out throughout the ceremony for you to munch on. If you're new to South Indian Hindu weddings, here's a lovely thing to know: the ceremony is a relaxed, flowing affair, and it's completely customary for guests to eat, chat, and mingle while it's underway. So please don't feel shy about grabbing a bite or catching up with a neighbor — it's all part of the celebration! Once the ceremony wraps, we'll serve a traditional South Indian vegetarian thali lunch — a generous spread of dishes served on a single platter, finished off with dessert. It's a feast, so save plenty of room.
