If you're looking for a cool hike, this one is where Matt proposed. It's about 1.5 miles one-way to the lower lake. It's a little more strenuous than Matt usually describes it, but it gives you a nice taste of the high country.
Don't want to walk to a lake? You can drive to this one!
This is a large boat launch and take-out. There's a trail along the river. Great spot if you want to go for a walk without going up into the mountains.
Always a good hang, the best brewery in town. Madison and Matt live about a mile from here, so they're regulars.
Mads and Matt moonlight here as bartenders. Best old fashioneds in town, plus a Thai food truck.
This is our go-to for breakfast, brunch, and happy hour. Our go-to? The Baker Bennie.
Highlights: Tossed chicken tendies (we recommend the garlic parmesan) and smash burgers.
Maybe the "nicest" restaurant in town. Tapas style.
The all-around best bar in town.
Mads and Matt frequent Princeton thanks to their local punch pass. The spa side is adults-only and a bit bougier (some of you will find it worth it; others won't). The Historic Bath House is great too, though, along with the infinity pool up the hill.
Great Sand Dunes National Park is nearby, and it's spectacular. These hot springs are one of our favorite local places. Note: The adult-only green house is great and worth the additional cost. Shockingly good food and 9 pools. The regular pool is your average town pool and probably not worth the trip.
Real golf!
The Royal Gorge is amazing, and the train is the coolest way to see it other than from a raft or kayak. This makes sense for people flying in to Colorado Springs or anyone who's adding days to their trip.
