FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We’re so excited to celebrate with you! To help everyone feel their best and keep the evening beautifully cohesive, our wedding will be Black Tie.

Question

What does Black Tie entail?

Answer

Gentleman: A black tuxedo, white dress shirt, black neck tie or bow tie, and black dress shoes. Cummerbund or tuxedo vest is an optional addition. Ladies: A formal, floor-length gown. Elegant evening accessories are welcome — wraps, jewelry, etc. Color is not limited to black for ladies.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We hope you understand that both our ceremony and reception will be an adults-only occasion. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We are only able to accommodate guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

You will be able to RSVP on our website once you have received a formal invitation.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

We strongly encourage our guests to responsibly utilize ride share services such as Uber or Lyft. However, parking will be provided at the reception in the garage of the Nelson. The parking garage is situated on Oak Street, just south of 45th street.

Question

What is the recommended attire for guests attending only the ceremony?

Answer

We are so thankful to have you witness our marriage. Thank you for your love and support. If you plan to only attend the ceremony, you may join us in your "Sunday Best". For ladies, this may be a dress or dressy separates; For gentlemen, a suit or sport coat with pants is appropriate.

Question

Is a change of attire between the ceremony and reception anticipated?

Answer

This decision is entirely at your discretion. We kindly request that guests attend the reception in black-tie attire at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
