At Black Butte Ranch, you have the freedom to do whatever you want, or nothing at all! It is a peaceful place surrounded by nature. BBR offers a variety of rental services and activities to enjoy! If you choose to venture out, here are some of our favorite ranch activities: •Biking (Some rental properties come with bikes, but if not, you can rent bikes from the Glaze Meadow Recreation Center). •Hiking/running. •Swimming/hot tub. •Kayaks/SUP. •Golfing. (Glaze Meadow: Driving range and putting green. Big Meadow: Practice facilities and a driving range.)

This flat 3.6 mile trail winds along the forested shore. From BBR: take Hwy 20 west 5 miles to the entrance of the Suttle Lake Campgrounds. The trail may be accessed from several points, including Cinder Beach near Suttle Lake Resort. The beach at Suttle Lake is also a great place to relax and unwind!

Hike Black Buttes namesake in this 3.6 mile, 1,556 foot climb with a look out fire tower at the top. Views of Cascade peaks and BBR await at the summit. Lookout Route #1 From BBR: drive east on Hwy 20 to Indian Ford Campground, near MP 95. Turn north onto paved Green Ridge Road 11. After 3.8 miles, turn left onto gravel Road 1110 for 5.1 miles to a parking area at the road’s end. Lookout Route #2 Want more of a challenge? Try the historic Black Butte Trail # 4026. From BBR, turn west on Hwy 20 for 2 miles and turn north on FS 14, SW Camp Sherman Road. Park at the trailhead on the right, just past the “Y”. This 9.8 mile out and back trail features beautiful wild flowers.
