Frequently Asked Questions

Question

What date should I RSVP by?

Answer

It is requested that RSVPs are submitted as soon as possible. However, the deadline to submit your RSVP by is Friday, May 16th. This is to allow us time to get our guest count to Longview Mansion by their deadline, allowing them to prepare for the correct amount of guests. If you do not RSVP by this time, it will be assumed that you will not be in attendance, and subsequently, there will not be seating, food, etc. accounted for your presence.

Question

What is the address of the wedding ceremony and reception?

Answer

1200 SW Longview Park Dr, Lee's Summit, MO 64081 No need to worry about traveling to another location, as both our ceremony and reception will be held at Longview Mansion.

Question

Am I able to bring my children?

Answer

Yes! Children of all ages are welcome! It is up to the discretion of the invited families if they want to make it a date night, or bring the whole family along! It is requested by the bride and groom, however, that if there happens to be any interruptions from our younger guests during the ceremony, they be removed from the service. This is to ensure that there are no distractions for the wedding party and other guests, as well as ensuring clear sound quality for the videographer. During the reception, it is also requested that all children are accounted for and with their parents during the first dance and following dances, so that children do not mistakenly enter the dance floor. Additionally, for the benefit of our younger guests, Longview Mansion has a nursery room upstairs where children can be changed, breastfed, or have some quiet time away, if needed. We will also have a kids table available in the reception space with coloring pages and other activities for our younger guests to enjoy!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

4:30 pm is the preferred time of arrival. A live string quartet will be playing for guests as they arrive, leading up to 5:00 pm, when the ceremony will begin.

Question

Is it an open bar?

Answer

Yes! Drinks are on the bride and groom!

Question

Am I allowed to take photos or videos at your wedding?

Answer

Yes and no. This depends on the time and place! The bride and groom will have an unplugged ceremony, meaning know phones, iPads or any other devices should be out during the wedding. The bride and groom have paid for a professional photographer and videographer to capture their ceremony and other moments through the night. No phones or other devices should be out during this time so as not to interfere with the professional photos and video. However, during the reception, everyone is encouraged to take photos and videos of the night! The bride and groom will have QR codes available around the reception space for guests to upload pictures to a shared album. With the QR code, any guest can upload their photos or videos from the night onto a Google drive made especially for the wedding day! All guests can view and save photos and videos uploaded to this album as well. The bride and groom would LOVE for you to share your photos/videos so they can see any beautiful moments you may have captured through the night and get a glimpse of their guests enjoying the night and having fun!

Question

Is there parking available near your wedding venue?

Answer

Plenty of parking spaces are available on site, with one lot being located to the far right of the mansion, and another directly on the left. The parking lots are a short walk to the ceremony space, which is located directly on the right side of the mansion. Please do not park in the circle drive at the front of the mansion, as photos will be taken with the bride and groom following the ceremony. If you wish to get an Uber at the end of the night, the mansion welcomes you to leave your car overnight and pick it up the following morning. If you decide to do this, please be sure your vehicle is picked up no later than 10 am the next day.

Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Answer

If you are able to bring a plus one to the wedding, you would have received a plus one card along with your wedding invitation in the mail. Additionally, when RSVPing the website will list your name and "guest". If you do not want to bring a plus one, simply mark your guest as not attending. If you want to use your plus one, please mark them as attending and provide in the additional question on the RSVP page the name and age of your guest. If you are not sure who your plus one will be at the time you are RSVPing, simply write in "TBD".

Question

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

If weather allows, the ceremony will be held outdoors, while the cocktail hour and reception will be held indoors. Refreshments will be served leading up to the ceremony to keep our guests hydrated!

Question

Have you reserved a room block at a hotel?

Answer
