Maddie visited Nampa back in 2016 for an NNU volleyball camp. Because they came a day early, Maddie and her friend needed a place to stay. Long story short - Hailey Cook (Jacks sister) was on the NNU team at the time, and hosted Maddie and her friend for the night. *Maddie and Jack did not meet at this time - she didn’t even know Hailey had a younger brother*. But what Maddie did remember was the drive to the Cooks house. The cows were in the field, and the sun was setting behind their beautiful white home. The image was burned in her mind as she thought “I’m going to live in Idaho someday”. Fast forward 9 years later, Maddie made the move to Boise, working as a school counselor and living her best life. That winter she followed a boy named Jack on instagram. He followed her back, but took a couple months to reach out. He had just come back from his post-college work experience in Vanuatu (small island near Australia). Five minutes into their first date, they made the connection about Jacks sister playing NNU volleyball. The rest of the conversation went as follows: Maddie “I know a few people from NNU volleyball. Who was your sister?” Jack: “Hailey Cook” Maddie: “That’s wild because I stayed at Hailey Cooks house… We stayed in a blue room” Jack: “That was my room!” Back in 2016, in the beautiful farm house, Maddie stayed in Jacks blue room, without ever meeting or even seeing him. But God planted a seed in her heart to be here, in Nampa, and it’s a good thing she followed. Throughout their time of dating and engagement, Jack and Maddie have shared many laughs, tears, memories, and a mini dachshund named Bogie. They’ve navigated losing loved ones, changing jobs, and busy schedules, while growing their relationships with the Lord and with one another. The Farm has meant so much to our story, as it marks the beginning of our lives together, our engagement, and now our marriage & we are so excited to now share this space and celebration with our loved ones 🤍
