Our favorite neighborhood coffee spot right on the corner of our street. And for those exploring Central 9th, they have a location there too!
A bright and inviting coffee shop serving classic drinks, pour-overs, and more, along with locally made pastries. It's nestled in a fun, walkable neighborhood filled with charming shops and great dining options.
A cozy, down-home coffeehouse offering exotic beans, loose-leaf teas, and a delicious in-house bakery and sandwich menu.
Our go-to spot for a quick and delicious breakfast! They serve hand-rolled bagels, satisfying sandwiches, and hot coffee, plus baked goods from LadyFlour, our wedding cake baker!
Need a hangover cure? Central 9th Market's famous breakfast sandwiches are just what the doctor ordered. Plus, it's a great little market with fresh produce, local and imported deli items, and delicious hearth-fired pizzas.
Staying for the weekend? Treat yourself to brunch here and soak in the fresh mountain air and beautiful scenery.
For our vegan friends! A snug eatery offering creative vegan sandwiches, plus salads & cookies. If you want more from the creators of Buds, visit their store next door, Easy Does It, or their vegan ice cream spot, Monkey Wrench, just down the street.
Beer Bar's got it all—140+ brews, beer cocktails, brats, burgers, and a whole lot of memories for us! Colton started his cooking career here, learning everything and more from our dear friend, Chef Brendan Kawakami (now Chef of Post Office Place!). We spent many of our formative 20s here with our Beer Bar family. Step through the doorway to Bar X, one of Salt Lake's original and intimate Prohibition-era cocktail bars.
This is more than just a cute cocktail bar serving delicious Vietnamese fusion fare. It's also a special place for us – we took some of our engagement photos here, an homage to our story. The owner and chef, Tommy Nguyen, was our chef at Rye, where we met, and we've both been fortunate to work with him more throughout our careers. Our love story has always been fueled by Tommy's delicious cooking, and it's added to our love of sharing good food.
A Marmalade gem! Koyote is our pick for the best ramen in town. They offer a warm atmosphere with both ramen bar and patio seating.
Locally sourced Greek small plates (octopus!) or weekend brunch (chicken dip!) while sipping on some Ouzo. It's a modern and fun place to dine! Shoutout to one of Madie's best friends, Rikki, who probably won't be able to serve you because she'll be hanging out with us all week but we wish she could serve you because she's the best.
Takashi has been like a second home to both of us, and we think you'll love it too. Colton is currently a sushi chef here, and Madie served here for five years. Visit our restaurant family for the best sushi you'll find near the Rockies. If you haven't been yet, you're in for a treat! Make sure to pop in next door to their sister bar, Post Office Place, before for some of Chef Brendan's delicious bites, or afterward for a Japanese whiskey nightcap.
Fisher, one of Utah's original breweries, has made a triumphant return! This historic brand, resurrected 50 years after its closure, is our favorite for its laid-back vibes, great music, and rooftop patio. They also offer a small selection of cocktails and rotating food trucks.
Also known as TF, this modern brewery boasts one of the best patios in town, perfect for enjoying their German-style beers with slow pours and big foam. They also make a mean Negroni and recently expanded their creations to include natural wines. Plus, they usually have a local food truck parked outside.
Water Witch and Nohm are our go-to's for unique cocktail experiences. Let the bartenders surprise you with something fresh and exciting or tasty and timeless. Expect a dope playlist at Water Witch, anywhere from 90s pop to heavy metal. Step through the open door to Nohm, their sister bar, for sake and delicious Japanese small plates in a stunningly decorated space.
A downtown favorite among locals, this spot offers a curated selection of natural wines and cocktails, paired with delicious new American cuisine.
Looking for an SLC dive? Duffy's is a classic, with low lighting, cheap drinks, darts, pool, and even cats on the patio. Fun fact: Bill Murray was known to frequent Duffy's in the 80s—he was even caught behind the bar handing out Miller Lites! P.S. Don't sleep on the sandwiches with a side of Costco's potato salad.
Find nature right in the heart of the city. Take a peaceful walk along the creekside paths of Memory Grove.
One of our favorite summer activities is a good old-fashioned lake hang. Less than an hour from the city, you can cool off and enjoy some nature. Pack your swimsuit, a towel, and some snacks if you have time for a dip!
Want to feel fancy while soaking in nature? Head to the Cliff Spa at Snowbird! Rooftop pool and hot tub, epic mountain views, eucalyptus steam room, saunas – they've got it all. Robes and slippers are provided, and day passes are available.
