Welcome Drinks

Smart casual attire

Drinks & light bites will be offered for any guests who can make it! We encourage you to take the wedding trolley that will be circulating every 15–20 minutes to pick up guests from Hotel Fort Des Moines, Surety Hotel, Savery Hotel, and the Embassy Club. The trolley is white and has a sign with Will and Madi’s name, so it’s easy to spot. The first pickup will take place at 7:45 PM at Hotel Fort Des Moines, and the final trolley will leave the Embassy Club at 10:30 PM. There will be a trolley host that walks into the lobby of the hotels with a sign once the trolley has arrived. We have parking at the Downtown Des Moines Embassy Club. We have provided the guest list names with people who have RSVP'd 'yes' to Welcome Drinks. The parking entrance is at the northeast corner of the Ruan Center between 6th & 7th on Grand. Push the button and give your name to the security guard who will raise the door. Take the elevator to the 1st floor and take the high rise elevators to the 34th floor.

Cocktail attire

Please enter through the door closest to the Des Moines River. The doors on the garden side entrance will be locked. Parking is available at nearby city parking ramps, as there is no on-site parking. The closest options are the 3rd and Court ramp and the 4th and Grand ramp. Metered street parking is also available in the surrounding downtown area. We will have shuttles leaving the World Food Prize at 10:30pm, 11:00pm, and 11:30pm with drop offs at the Hotel Fort Des Moines.
