You honestly cannot go wrong with any beach in Tahoe. Any beach in South Lake is the closest drive from the valley! Swim, get a tan, rent a kayak or paddle board.
Here is Tahoe central. Enjoy amazing restaurants like Base Camp Pizza or Azul, do fun activities like mini golf or shopping, or go to a brewery all in one place! The Gondola is right in the center of the Village, and you can take a ride to the top of the mountain and see the entire lake.
While this may be a farther drive, typically 45-60 minutes from the Valley, it is well worth it. Here you stand on a huge waterfall and overlook the lake, where there is a small island and a tiny brick castle. You cannot miss with this one!
Genoa is the oldest settlement in Nevada. It is full of history, and fun things to do! Located 10-15 minutes from the valley, it sits right at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Enjoy hikes, history, and a whole lot of fun!
Here, you can have a wonderful traditional Basque meal and enjoy the quaint town vibe. After the restaurant closes, the small town bar stays open, and frequently has lots of visitors at night.
This small town right across the NV/CA state line has plenty to eat and do. Go on a hike or to the hot springs. There are little shops and restaurants located about 25-30 minutes from town.
This Mexican restaurant is located about 20 minutes from the hotels in town. It is my family's favorite mexican food restaurant. With authentic, amazing food and STRONGGGG margaritas, this place is awesome. My great grandparents were regulars at this restaurant, and our family has been going ever since.
