The best airports to Mount Desert Island:

Bangor International Airport: (BGR) Approximately a 1 hour drive to Bar Harbor. This is the most common way to travel to the island. A rental car or uber/lyft will be needed. Hancock County - Bar Harbor: (BHB) Approximately 15 minutes to Bar Harbor. This is a smaller airport and partners with JetBlue. Please call ahead to make sure they have rental cars available. Portland International Jetport: (PWM) Approximately 3 hours to Bar Harbor. We recommend this route if you want a relaxed scenic drive. Take your time driving Route 1 through quaint, unique towns with lots of shops and stores. Boston Logan International Airport: (BOS) Approximately 4.5 hours from Bar Harbor.
