Yes! We will be hosting a casual welcome gathering on Friday evening, with food provided, and would love for you to join us as we kick off the weekend together. The event will take place at the Harborside Hotel, Spa & Marina on the Pool House Patio from 6:00–9:00 PM, located at 55 West Street, Bar Harbor.
Yes! Formal Garden Party attire. Polished and elegant, with an outdoor-friendly feel. For women, think flowy dresses, vibrant colors, and comfortable shoes suited for a waterfront setting. Light, airy fabrics are encouraged, along with fun prints and details. For men, ties are optional, and lighter-colored suits are encouraged.
Although we love your kiddos, we are hoping this will be a parents’ night out for everyone to unwind and celebrate. If you’ll be bringing your child/children to Maine for a family trip, please let us know. We will be providing off-site childcare during the ceremony and reception at the Hendershot home, a short 4-minute walk from the venue, with trusted family-friend nannies.
Bar Harbor is a very popular tourist destination in the summer months. A few hotels with discounts are on our website, booking sooner than later would be advisable. The Villager Motel has 15 rooms available. Please mention the Caulfield/Hendershot Wedding when booking.
There will be no parking allowed at the venue. There is street parking nearby, but it is very limited. We encourage all guest to walk!
For your stay, we recommend getting a rental car or looking into the Island Explorer Bus System if you are staying for multiple days. This service provides free transportation throughout the island. If you choose to stay in Bar Harbor where the venue is, everything is walkable. There will also be uber and lyfts available.
