Simon Bolivar International Airport Located in Santa Marta (SMR)

The Santa Marta Airport (SMR) is the closest option to our wedding venue. It is approximately 15-20 minutes from the venue and hotels adjacent to the venue. The average taxi cost should be between 20.000-30.000 COP ($5-10 USD). If anyone needs assistance with transport, let us know in advance and our wedding planner can coordinate. Currently, Miami Airport (MIA) has direct flights to SMR on Tuesdays and Saturdays through Avianca Airlines. Copa Airlines offers flights to SMR on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays with a layover in Panama City (PTY). Avianca and LATAM airlines offer flights to SMR every day of the week with a layover in Bogota (BOG).

Ernesto Cortissoz Internation Airport Located in Barranquilla (BAQ)

The Barranquilla Airport (BAQ) is approximately 1.5-2 hours from the venue. The average taxi cost should be between 230.000-240.000 COP ($45-55 USD). If anyone needs assistance with transport, let us know in advance and our wedding planner can coordinate. Currently, Miami Airport (MIA) has multiple direct flights to BAQ. All other major cities have flights to BAQ with one layover in Miami (MIA) or Panama City (PTY).

Rafael Núñez International Airport Located in Cartagena (CTG)

The Cartagena Airport (CTG) is approximately 3.5-4.5 hours from the venue depending on traffic. The average taxi cost should be between 368.000-450.000 COP ($90-130 USD). If anyone needs assistance with transport, let us know in advance and our wedding planner can coordinate. Currently, Miami Airport (MIA), Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL), Atlanta Airport (ATL), and New York (JFK) have direct flights to Cartagena. All other major cities have layovers in Miami, Panama City, or Bogota. Please note there is not a direct flight from Cartagena to Santa Marta.

The Marriott is a 7-10 minute drive from the wedding venue. The wedding discount rates are $166 for two double beds or $186 for a king bed per night including breakfast. We have a block of rooms available using the link below. Additionally, you will not have to pay the 19% VAT tax as long as you show them your stamped US passport at the time of check-in. We have the block set up for the nights of the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. The rooms at these rates are available until January 21, 2024 to book. If you need additional nights then you can book whichever dates you want within the block and after you have a reservation number they can add nights outside of the 22, 23, and 24 for the same price. This is the hotel that is directly next to the wedding venue (about a 2-3 minute drive). It is an all inclusive hotel meaning the price is per person and includes all your meals, drinks (both non-alcoholic and alcoholic), entertainment, and access to the amenities.

This is just one of the many really nice boutique hotels located in the historic district of Santa Marta. It is available to book through the hotel website and on booking.com. The historic area is located around 30 minutes north of the wedding venue.

Airbnbs in the Historic Santa Marta District

There are some really beautiful airbnbs for reasonable prices located within the historical district of Santa Marta. This location is around 30 minutes north of the wedding venue but would allow you to walk around the city which has many restaurants and shops and to the beach.

Origin Luxury House: New Top Spot in Santa Marta

This house would need to be booked through Airbnb. It is about 15 minutes north of the wedding venue and would be ideal for larger parties since it can hold up to 15 guests. It has 3 bedrooms, 9 beds, and 5 bathrooms. It also has a private pool, paddle boards, A/C, and a BBQ area. We have not personally stayed here.

Casa La Gloria

The location of this house is amazing! We wanted to have our wedding here but it could not accommodate the number of people. It is farther from our wedding venue (approx. 30 minutes) north but is very close to the historic Santa Marta downtown. It has 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, and 14 beds making it ideal for larger groupes. The only downside is it ONLY HAS FANS NO A/C.

This house is approx. a 5 minute drive from the wedding venue. It has its own private beach access and has 4 bedrooms holding up to 8 guests. It has A/C wall units and its own swimming pool and hot tub.

Casa Konna Apto Urban Beach

We toured this house as a wedding venue option. It 3 very large apartments, the link attached is for one of the three. You can message the host Moyra to check the availability if wanting to rent all three. Two of the apartments have 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and the third apartment has 3 bedrooms and 3 baths all with air conditioning. The house has private beach access but does not have a swimming pool. Before booking we would suggest verifying that no weddings or other events will be going on at the house the wedding you are looking to rent.
