FAQs

Question

How do I RSVP, and what if I can't attend?

Answer

RSVPs will be opening soon! Once they become available, you'll be able to respond online by clicking the RSVP tab at the top of our website. If you prefer, you'll also have the option to mail your RSVP card back to us using the response card included with your invitation. If you're unable to attend, you will certainly be missed! We kindly ask that you indicate "Will Not Attend" on your RSVP so we can plan accordingly. If you have already RSVP'd "Attending" and your plans change, please reach out to Madelyn or Blake as soon as possible. Please submit your RSVP by April 9, 2027, so we can finalize our plans and ensure everything is ready for a wonderful celebration. We can't wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We’d love to celebrate with everyone, but our venue has limited space! Plus-ones are included only for guests whose invitations mention it. Thanks for understanding — we can’t wait to party with you!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we absolutely adore your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration, with the exception of a few nieces and nephews who will be participating in the wedding festivities.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

For our out-of-town guests, we will have a hotel room block available at Maumee Bay Lodge & Conference Center. We are currently finalizing the details and will update this page with booking information as soon as it becomes available.

Question

Are the ceremony and reception at the same location?

Answer

Yes! Both our ceremony and reception will take place at Oakwood Lane Weddings and Events, so once you arrive, you can relax and enjoy the celebration without needing to travel between locations.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our ceremony will be held outdoors, weather permitting, so we recommend planning accordingly for the season. Following the ceremony, guests will celebrate with us at our reception, which will be held under a tent. Should weather conditions require any adjustments, we'll be sure to communicate any updates with guests.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Our ceremony will take place outdoors in the sunshine, followed by a reception under a shaded tent. We recommend dressing in light, breathable fabrics and bringing a layer for later in the evening when the temperature dips — spring nights can get a little cool!

Question

What should I wear, and are there any colors I should avoid?

Answer

Our dress code is Dressy Casual. Think polished, comfortable, and celebration-ready! We kindly ask that guests avoid jeans and t-shirts. Since the ceremony will be outdoors and the reception will be under a tent, we recommend choosing footwear that can comfortably navigate grass and uneven ground. We kindly ask guests to avoid wearing white, cream, or lilac so the colors of the day (and the wedding party!) can really shine.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 PM. We recommend arriving 15–30 minutes early to allow time for parking, finding your seat, and getting settled before the festivities begin.

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

Once you turn onto Oakwood Lane, continue down the road and look for the parking signs on your right-hand side. There’s plenty of parking available, so no need to worry about finding a spot!

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

We are currently exploring transportation options for our guests and will update this page with more information as plans are finalized. Please check back closer to the wedding date for the latest details.

Question

Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?

Answer

Unfortunately, due to our catering package and set menu with City Barbeque, we are unable to accommodate individual dietary restrictions or meal substitutions. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we finalize plans for our celebration.

Question

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Answer

We kindly ask that guests refrain from taking photos or videos during our ceremony — we’d love for you to be fully present in the moment with us. Once the celebration begins at the reception, please feel free to take as many photos and videos as you’d like!

Question

What time will the reception end?

Answer

The celebration will wrap up around 11pm. Our venue does ask that music be turned down by 10:30 PM, but guests are welcome to linger, chat, and enjoy the night until we officially say goodbye at 11!
