Hotel
We’ve booked this hotel which is located about 30 minutes away from our wedding venue. This hotel features a beautiful mid-century modern interior aesthetic, picturesque views of an incredibly manicured property, 108 holes of golf over the property's several courses, the World Golf Hall of Fame, and (the groom's favorite) Caddyshack Restaurant just a short walk away from the entrance, among other dining experiences on property. There are also luxury resort offerings, like their spa, boutique gift shop, game room, and room service. This is a great option for guests who'd prefer to spend their free time this weekend playing golf and getting a nice drink, instead of touring the more historical locations. Plus, there's a Buc-ee's just outside the property! This hotel is offering a rate of $189/night for our guests between Friday, the 23rd, and Sunday, the 25th, including resort fees, and parking is available for $12/night self-parking or $20/night for valet. You can also extend your stay to Tuesday, February 27th, with the same rate, if desired. Please note that the last date to book is Friday, January 26th, 2024.
Travel Note
St. Augustine as a city was literally founded 300-400 years before cars existed, and the Oldest House is almost as old as the town is, so parking at the venue is limited, but available to guests who arrive early. 2-3 spots will be reserved for the wedding party. However, downtown St. Augustine is a very walkable area with public and private parking sporadically located through the city within walking distance of our venue, and arriving before peak times in the day can help improve your chances of finding good parking nearby. Transportation may be a big concern for a lot of our guests, given the limited parking offered by our venue, and the distance between hotels and the downtown area. If you plan on drinking the day of our wedding and don't have a designated driver to take you home, we recommend using uber or lyft for the duration of the weekend. The World Golf Village also has a shuttle available for their guests, based on availability. You can call the hotel at the number listed for more information.
Travel Note
In case you didn’t want to stay at the hotel we booked for the weekend, you might also want to consider some of the other accommodations in the area. We personally recommend the Marriott Courtyard in St. Augustine Beach and the Casa Monica hotel in downtown St. Augustine. The beach hotel is an affordable option just 10 minutes outside of downtown, and we have personally stayed here together on many occasions. As the name suggests, it is also just a minute’s walk from the beach. The Casa Monica is a more luxurious option for your stay, but it is a beautiful hotel, with a rich history dating back to the days of Henry Flagler. The bride has stayed here several times with her family in the past.
