We're getting married!

The Sydney Uni women’s and men’s water polo teams were each having their own pre-party before we’d join forces for a barbecue to celebrate the new season - and welcome the foreign “imports”! I was dropping my brother Michael off at the guys’ gathering and against his wishes, walked him inside so I could meet his new teammates. Once inside, I suddenly became nervous as I didn’t know anyone and there was no room for me to sit next to my brother. Feeling a room full of eyes on me, I quickly panned around for a place to sit. I saw an open seat next to a cute, friendly looking guy and sat down. We started chatting, laughing and really hit it off. We began messaging the next day, had our first date a week later and the rest is history!

The Sydney University Men's American import Michael Rosenthal has just arrived in town. The team had planned an afternoon catch up so that Michael could get to know the team before we were to later catch up with the girls team for dinner. When Michael got dropped off, his sister Maddy who was the import for the girls team came in with him to say hi. When they got there, Michael sat down in the last open seat, leaving Maddy alone to survey the room. Looking around, she decided to make her move and asked the person next to me to get up so she could sit and talk to me. Only staying for 10 minutes, she left such an impression I knew I had to find her again. We began messaging the next day, had our first date a week later and the rest is history!
