We met while working in New York City at Capsule trade show in 2014. Through many work trips, shows, and events we developed a great friendship. We officially started dating in the fall of 2016 and moved in together a year later! We currently live in Brooklyn, NY :)

The best part about our proposal is that it was just like any other ordinary night at home - so I was completely surprised! I had gone out to dinner with some girlfriends and came home afterwards on a seemingly normal Thursday night - little did I know what was in store! George and I were talking about our days and laughing about some old memories when he told me he was going to go into the living room to watch TV. I planned on staying in our bedroom to read before going to bed. A few minutes later he came back in the room and started saying the most thoughtful and sweet things to me. He proceeded to tell me he had thought about how to propose for quite some time but ultimately landed on wanting to do it in our first apartment together when I was wearing no makeup (the way he loves me best, he says). He got down on one knee and revealed an incredibly beautiful ring! It was a perfect and intimate moment that I will always cherish. Bonus: our cat Gary got to witness the entire thing! - Madeline
