FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Please be seated at 12:50 or prior - the mass WILL begin at 1:00 PM. We are not the only wedding taking place in the chapel on the 11th!

Question

Is there free parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! The Mass is taking place at the Chapel, not the main church. Please follow the signs for the Chapel, there is plenty of free parking. The Black Walnut also has a large free parking lot.

Question

I've never been to a Nuptial Mass. How do I follow along?

Answer

Don't worry - Maddy was not officially a Catholic until 2023. As long as you are quietly seated with your cell phone off, you are being respectful of the ceremony. If you'd like, you can stand when others are standing and sit when others are kneeling. A program will be provided so you can follow along with the readings and hymns of the ceremony. The wedding portion of the ceremony takes place after the Priest offers the homily (teaching based on scriptural readings).

Question

How long will the Nuptial Mass be?

Answer

The Mass will be between 50-70 minutes.

Question

Is there a gift registry?

Answer

We have a cash fund under the "Registry" tab if you'd like to contribute to furnishing our new home. We are not registered with any stores for gifts.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Semi-Formal: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, so are khakis and cocktail dresses. Our wedding ceremony will be a Nuptial Mass. We ask kindly that men are dressed without hats and that women dress with a full back on their tops/dresses for the ceremony.
