As most know already, we were married in an intimate ceremony in The Netherlands on December 27, 2019. We'd like to think we had a pre-Covid Covid-safe wedding. While we were supposed to celebrate with all of you just a few months later, a silly pandemic got in the way. We're hoping to try once more to celebrate with all of our favorite people...and this time only 631 days after our original wedding.

Love is in the air. Literally. In November of 2014, Maddy was studying abroad in Copenhagen, and Rick was living in Haarlem (in the Netherlands, which is a different country than Denmark ;-)), but was flying to Copenhagen for work. Luckily the KLM website crashed when booking flights, making it so that Maddy was not able to sit with her friends and ultimately placing her next to Rick. After being delayed on the runway for an hour plus an hour flight, you could say the rest is history...we'll forever be thankful to KLM, though still wish they'd fly our Dutch family and friends to New York for free!
