Michie Tavern, proudly owned and operated by the same family for 55 years, is located 1/2 mile below Jefferson’s Monticello. Visit to eat fried chicken and explore the general store!
Humpback Rocks Visitor Center and Picnic Area
Hike Humpback Mountain! This is a classic, quick hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Charlottesville.
Carter Mountain Orchard and Country Store
Just minutes from downtown Charlottesville and Monticello, visit Carter Mountain to pick apples, shop at the farm store, and drink Bold Rock overlooking the city of Charlottesville.
Historic Downtown Mall
Charlottesville has a ton of shops and restaurants to explore on the downtown mall!
Ix Art Park
This is an outdoor art park that is free and open to the public 7 days a week. You can also grab a taco at Brazo's Tacos and a beer at Three Notch'd while you're there!

The Charlottesville area has a TON of amazing wineries to visit. Some of our favorites are: King Family Vineyards, First Colony, Mount Ida, and Pippin Hill!
Breweries
Charlottesville is also home to some amazing craft beer. Our favorite breweries are: Starr Hill, Three Notch'd, and Devil's Backbone! They have several locations in Charlottesville. If you're more interested in cider, visit Bold Rock or Potter's Craft Cider!
