Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Maddy Ball and Robert Shinder
We’ve put together a list of our favorite activities, restaurants, and of course, time at the beach! Most of these spots are just a short walk from the hotels and wedding venue, making it easy to explore and enjoy the weekend. Whether you’re looking to relax by the water, grab a delicious bite, or wander through the local sights, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Children's Pool

900 Coast Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92037

Take a seaside stroll to Children’s Pool Beach while you’re here! It’s a local spot where you can watch seals and sea lions soaking up the California sun. It’s the perfect spot for a peaceful morning walk or sunset view.

Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve

12600 North Torrey Pines Road, San Diego, CA 92037

Just a short drive from La Jolla, Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is a must-see for ocean views and coastal trails. Hike along the cliffs, breathe in that sea air, and take in some of the most beautiful views in San Diego.

Blue Whale

834 Kline Street, San Diego, CA 92037

Our favorite little La Jolla gem! The açaí bowls and salads are amazing, the drinks are refreshing, and the whole place is just so cute. Perfect for a casual lunch, a post-beach bite, or a chill afternoon in the sunshine.

Queenstown Village

1044 Wall Street, San Diego, CA 92037

We’re obsessed with this little New Zealand-inspired spot! It's aesthetic and always delicious. The steak caesar salad and burger are our go-tos, and the vibe is just right: a touch nicer than your average beach spot, but still totally chill. Jeans are perfect!

The Shack Bar & Grill

6941 La Jolla Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92037

Because we love a good dive bar. The Shack has all the essentials: cold beer, no frills, and that perfect beach-town energy. It’s the kind of place where you can walk in sandy, order a burger and a beer, and instantly feel like a local.
