Although we went to middle school together, it wasn’t until Scott asked Robert to help make Maddy’s volleyball recruiting video that everything changed. Maddy reached out to thank Robert for his help, and from that moment on, we started talking… and never really stopped. Not long after, Robert brought Hannah over for what was supposed to be a quick hangout with Livy, but hours and hours later, we were still sitting on the kitchen counter talking. That was when we both realized something special was happening, and the rest is history. From Emerson to Florida State and all the long distance in between, to COVID unexpectedly giving us extra time together. From getting into Northwestern and moving to Chicago side by side, to eventually building our life in San Diego. Not long after, we took a three-week trip through Europe and on top of a castle in Hvar, Croatia, Robert asked Maddy to spend forever with him. She obviously said yes. Just two days after getting home, we welcomed our first “kid,” Kovu, our German Shepherd, and learned what it truly means to have an incredible partner (and pup) to walk through life with. Life has definitely thrown plenty of curveballs our way, but having your best friend and partner by your side to experience everything life has to offer makes it all that much better. Now, we’re so excited to begin our next chapter together: marriage!
