We're Getting Married!

February of freshman year at JMU, Jonathan met up with some friends in a dorm on campus in search of potential roommates for the following year. Little did he know he'd meet more than just a roommate... Maddie and her friends were neighbors of the guys Jonathan was meeting with, and they all came over to meet him and give their stamp of approval to live with the guys next year. Maddie and Jonathan instantly connected and talked nearly all night, both of them will say later that "something just clicked." Ironically enough, Maddie said later to one of her roommates "I swear, I'm going to marry that guy someday." The two met up again the next night at a party, and y'all know the rest.

Friends were in town for the weekend, providing the perfect cover for the proposal (never mind the crutches and hip brace tying Jonathan down). Maddie had no idea, making it all the more perfect. Dinner and drinks in Leesburg allowed time for the scene to be set with flowers, lights, and pictures of the last 6 years of Maddie and Jonathan's relationship in the back yard of their new home. It was quiet, romantic, personal, and was exactly how Maddie pictured it. Jonathan got down on one knee despite being two weeks post-op (shout out to Ortho Virginia for a stellar hip surgery). Maddie was in shock, Jonathan was grinning from ear to ear, and it was the easiest "yes" in the world. We're thrilled to have you join us on our big day. Now, let's celebrate!
