High school sweethearts! Maddie was a sophomore in high school and Gabe was a junior. They met through mutual friends. Their first time hanging out was at the sand volley ball courts, a place they went a lot with friends. More time spent together and a Prom-posal quickly followed. Gabe asked Maddie to be his girlfriend on her 16th birthday. Now, we can't wait to get married the day before Gabe's 25th birthday!

The stars finally aligned and we were living in the same city again! Gabe started planning a proposal soon after and tried to ignore Maddie's not-so-subtle hints :) On Saturday, January 25th, Maddie had a mandatory teacher training event that Gabe had no idea about. Instead of letting his plans be ruined, the plan became even more special! While at training, Maddie received a handwritten note delivered by a friend. The note, from Gabe, was a sweet way to start the day and included instructions for her to go home early, eat, change clothes, and to arrive at Union Station at 2:50 pm. At this point Maddie knew what was happening and only slightly started panicking (all from excitement, of course!). When Maddie arrived at Union Station, her roommate and close friend Lindsey was waiting outside to walk her in. Once inside, Lindsey left her standing in the grand hall with another note to read from Gabe. Upon completion of reading the note, Gabe popped out from his hiding spot and got down on one knee. He surprised Maddie with THE most beautiful ring and then with our families who also came out of their hiding spots. Of course, it was the easiest YES ever! The rest of the day was full of surprises. Our closest friends set up a surprise party in Maddie's apartment and we went to Maddie's favorite place (Parlor) where more friends were waiting to surprise us. The day was beautiful, fun, and full of so much love.

Our relationship started as a friendship in 2012 and has grown into a fun, endearing, understanding, and all-encompassing love. Here's to forever!!
