Dressy Casual (aka Semi-Formal) attire is perfect for our wedding! We encourage you to wear something comfortable, especially since the ceremony and reception will take place outdoors. The average weather in Sugar Grove, NC in October typically ranges from 49°F to 64°F (9°C to 18°C), so we recommend bringing layers to stay warm, particularly in the morning and evening. Shoes suitable for walking on wet grass are highly recommended, as the ground may be soft or damp depending on the weather.
Our wedding weekend is designed to be a relaxed, immersive celebration with family and friends. Here's what to expect: THURSDAY: Family and close friends who wish to help set up and stay on the property are welcome to arrive in the afternoon. We'll spend the evening decorating and preparing for the weekend ahead. FRIDAY: This is a casual day to settle in, connect with others, and explore the area. Feel free to go for a hike, paddle nearby waters, or check out some of the spots listed on our Things to Do page. In the evening, members of the wedding party will gather for the rehearsal, and afterward, everyone else on the property is invited for dinner. SATURDAY: The big day! We'll celebrate with a ceremony, a shared meal, and a joyful reception. Guests are invited to stay on the property Saturday night if they'd like. SUNDAY: Breakfast is provided for anyone staying on property. Sunday morning will be focused on cleaning up and packing away decorations. If you are available, please help us leave the space as we found it. After that, guests can head home in the afternoon. We're so excited to spend this meaningful weekend with you!
We’re excited to offer a variety of lodging options for our guests at the wedding venue! The property includes a converted airplane hangar with room to sleep around 20 people in a mix of rooms. Lodging in the hangar is included with the venue, so staying on-site is free of charge for family and guests who would find it most convenient. If you're interested in claiming a room, please reach out to us directly. Tent camping is also available on the property for anyone who brings their own tent and gear. We encourage guests who are comfortable camping to do so—this helps leave the indoor accommodations available for those who may need them more. If you have a small tow-behind or pop-up camper, you're welcome to bring it as well! Just note that the entrance to the property is a steep and narrow gravel road, which will not be ideal for large RVs or oversized campers. There are no hookups available on the property, so campers need to be self-sustained. For anyone who would prefer to stay off-site, there are plenty of hotel and Airbnb options in the Boone area, about a 35-minute drive from the venue. We’re so excited to spend the weekend with all of you and can’t wait to celebrate together!
While the road up to the property is a steep gravel road, it is suitable for most vehicles including the bride and groom’s Honda Odysseys. Carpooling is encouraged if possible to reduce the wear and tear on the road which serves as an access road for all of the property owner’s neighbors and friends. Once on the property itself, you can easily drive up directly to the hangar and cottage for quick, easy, stair-free access. There will be plenty of parking available for all guests invited.
We're having a small, intimate wedding, and our venue has a limited capacity. Because of this, we can only accommodate a certain number of guests. If you're unable to attend, knowing by the RSVP date (the one circled on your invitation!) allows us to extend the invitation to others we’d love to celebrate with. Your timely response helps us plan thoughtfully and make sure everyone we care about is included. If we do not hear from you by the RSVP deadline written on you invitation, your ability to RSVP will expire. Thank you so much for understanding!
No, due to the presence of the property owner’s animals, we respectfully ask that pets remain at home for the duration of the wedding weekend. We appreciate your understanding.
We kindly ask that no children attend unless they are specifically listed on the invitation or have been personally invited by the bride and groom. While we love your little ones, we're keeping the celebration more intimate and appreciate your understanding and support in making this a special weekend for everyone.
