Covid Safety Protocols

We want to come together and celebrate safely, so we ask that you take one of the possible steps below in order to ensure this for our wedding: 1. If you are eligible and able to, we ask that you please receive the vaccine. Maddie has been able to make appointments for several family members and she would be more than happy to help if you'd like. 2. If you are not yet eligible to receive the vaccine by the time of the wedding, we ask that you quarantine and take a Covid test at least three days before the wedding. We understand that these are tremendous efforts to take in such unusual times, but this celebration will be well worth the wait if we can all take these precautions. We also ask that you please bring a mask with you to our ceremony and reception, just as an extra precaution. We can't wait to see you!

How We Met

Facebook Stalking, Awkward High school Party... Classic Love Story

One night at sleepover, Maddie and her friend Yuliya were scrolling through Facebook, wasting time like teenagers do, when they scrolled across one of Yuliya's friends, Alex. Maddie was instantly smitten, so she "casually" (creepily) friended Alex on Facebook. The next day, Maddie saw Alex in his football uniform (va-va-voom) from across the parking lot at their school's fall festival, called to him and waved, and he waved back (confused). Then they didn't see each other at all for 5 months. In March 2011, Yuliya had her birthday party, and Maddie and Alex were both in attendance. Maddie and Alex talked and danced together all night, and at the end of the party, they exchanged numbers (Maddie asked first). One week later, they went on the classic high-school-first-date, where both their parents dropped them off at the movies and picked them up at TGIFridays. On the date, they saw "The Adjustment Bureau," a movie no one remembers that had something to do with fedoras, and after the movie they walked across the parking lot to TGIF. Maddie didn't have a coat, so Alex gave her his lacrosse jacket and nearly froze on the walk over. Once inside and when Maddie said she was ready to order, Alex was too timid to say he wasn't, so he picked the first thing he saw: fish & chips. Not what TGIF is known for. While waiting for the food, Alex and Maddie, both shy, made paper footballs out of the napkin holders to cut the awkwardness. At the end of the date, before their parents picked them up, Alex asked Maddie to junior prom (which she learned from Yuliya that he was going to do, and was wondering what was taking him so long). Two proms, three graduations, five years of long distance, and eight years later, they're still having tons of fun, loving each other and their dog Lacey, and playing paper football.
