PLEASE BE CAREFUL HIKING IN THE HEAT!!! Elevation sickness is also real. *download the All Trails app to get the details, maps, and updates on each trail before going* -Top of the Y (the big Y for bYu on the mountain) -Bridal Veil Falls (multiple options for various skill levels) -Buffalo Peak Trail -Bonneville Shoreline Trail
You cannot come to Utah and NOT get a ~dirty soda~ (no alcohol, just extra creamy and sugary). There are plenty of options depending on where you're staying: -Swig -Thirst -Fiiz -Sodalicious
One of our absolute favorites for dinner - especially big groups! We always get their regular buffalo wings (NOT whatever special they have), and the Hot Honey Double Pepperoni (DP) pizza with an extra side of ranch. Good beer, good vibes, good food.
If you've never had a kolache, you need to try them! Balls of dough stuffed with either sweet or savory fillings. Our favorite is the sausage gravy one, but the sweet ones are amazing too. They often sell out of the best flavors before noon. Guy Fieri even paid them a visit - view on YouTube! They are closed on Sundays but reheat well if you grab some on Saturday!
We went on one of our very first dates here - delicious ramen and appetizers - open on Sundays!
Absolutely delicious and delightful coffee and pastries right near downtown!
We definitely recommend browsing the farmers market Saturday morning! Look for local UT Honey (we are the beehive state, after all), handmade crafts and trinkets, and delicious baked goods!
Delicious fresh American spot for brunch or dinner, but they are CLOSED on Sundays.
You can't go wrong with a scenic drive! Each of the canyons is great in it's own way! -Provo Canyon/Alpine Loop (Sundance Resort) -Big Cottonwood Canyon (more rocky, takes you up to Brighton and Solitude resorts) -Little Cottonwood Canyon (towering mountains, takes you up to Snowbird and Alta resorts) -Guardsman Pass (Connects to Park City - plan 2-3 hours)
Play a round of golf at Sleepy Ridge, where we will be getting married! They don't offer discounts for guests, but if you want to get out on a gorgeous Utah course, this could be a fun option!
You really don't want to miss Salt Lake City while you're here! When you head up there, we have a ton of recommendations! -Do a quick hike up Ensign Peak for great city views -Grab breakfast at Baby's Bagels -Walk around City Creek mall (very beautiful) -Drive by East High School where High School Musical was filmed -Get coffee at Java Jo's (our all time favorite) -Walk around the shops at 9th and 9th and eat at East Liberty Tap House (our first date) -Visit Temple Square and the Utah State Capitol building -Grab a rooftop drink with a view at Van Ryder -Check out Lake Effect, Takashi, or Slackwater for dinner -***Saturday only - downtown Farmer's Market at Pioneer Park
Head up to Park City for a day trip! You can hit the Olympic Park (where a lot of the 2002 games took place), then head to Historic Main Street for shopping, dining, Java Cow ice cream, and stunning mountain views! Caleb took us to River Horse on Main the night he proposed, which is a great fancier dinner option!
Head down to Moab - a 3 hour drive from Orem, and get passes to Arches National Park! Get coffee at Moab Coffee Roasters and all your meals at the Moab Food Truck Park. Pack a lunch and head into the national park where you can do a mild/moderate hike to the Delicate Arch and see the other wonders of Southern Utah! If you stay the night, you can head to Bryce Canyon (another hour drive) or find a hotel with a pool to soak up the sun! You will likely need reservations for "timed entry" to the parks since it's busy season!
