Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Madalyn Rae Ferlazzo and Michal Krzysztof Szelwach
We are so excited to welcome our guests to Fredericksburg, Virginia! This city holds such a special place in our hearts. Here is a list of a few of our favorite places and activities to do while in town!

Trolley Tours of Fredericksburg

601 Caroline Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401

Madalyn grew up seeing the Trolley ride through downtown Fredericksburg and took Michal on a Trolley Tour during one of his first trips to Fredericksburg. A great tour that showcases the history and charm of Fredericksburg!

Chatham Manor

120 Chatham Lane, Fredericksburg, VA 22405

An historic manor sitting across the Rappahannock River. Beautiful walking trails with a view of the Fredericksburg skyline and stunning gardens. Michal and Madalyn took their engagement pictures here!

A. Smith Bowman Distillery

1 Bowman Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22408

A Fredericksburg classic and only a short 5 minute drive from downtown Fredericksburg!

George Washington's Ferry Farm

268 George Washington Way, Fredericksburg, VA 22405

George Washington grew up only miles away from our wedding venue - take a short drive to Ferry Farm to visit his boyhood home.

Basilico

2577 Cowan Boulevard, Fredericksburg, VA 22401
, 540-370-0355

Madalyn's favorite restaurant in the whole world! She would stop for dinner many nights after working in the Emergency Department and it was the first place she made sure to take Michal to when he came to Fredericksburg.

Shopping along Caroline Street

Caroline Street, Fredericksburg, VA

Caroline street is the main street in downtown Fredericksburg and it is bursting with great stores to explore. Madalyn and Michal love spending their weekends popping into antique shops. Take some time to explore the antique malls - a few of Madalyn's favorite stores in downtown are Heather's boutique, Latitudes Fair Trade Store, Fredericksburg Antique Mall, and DuJardin Home and Garden.

Brock's Riverside Grill

503 Sophia Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401

A favorite of Fredericksburg - a great place to grab a burger and sit at the bar! It sits right on the river and is always a fun time!

Benny Vitali's

722 Caroline Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401

Home of the Virginia slice! Stop by to grab a slice of pizza that is larger than your face - you will not be disappointed.

Day Trip to DC

For our out-of-town guests, DC is a 50 mile drive north. If you are able to, we highly recommend spending a day in DC visiting the museums and monuments along The National Mall. The Amtrak train station in downtown Fredericksburg has a route to DC if you would like to avoid any traffic.

Eileen's Bakery & Cafe

1115 Caroline Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401

A historic church renovated into a stunning bakery - their sweets are some of Madalyn's favorites!

Paul's Bakery

2008 Lafayette Boulevard, Fredericksburg, VA 22401

A local favorite - Madalyn grew up eating birthday cakes from Paul's bakery and took Michal here on his first trip to Fredericksburg to grab a donut (or maybe a dozen!). Definitely worth the quick 10 minute drive from downtown Fredericksburg especially if you have a sweet tooth!

Fahrenheit 132

318 William Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401

If you are looking for a fancier dinner - take a stroll up William Street to Fahrenheit 132. This has been a Fredericksburg favorite for years and would make for a perfect date night!

Soup and Taco

813 Caroline Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401

Michal argues this is the best Mexican restaurant he has ever been to! The Ferlazzo Family would stop here to grab dinner before the Annual Christmas Parade growing up.

Goolrick's Pharmacy

901 Caroline Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401

Goolrick's is the Nation's "Oldest Continuously Operating Soda Fountain." A must-stop place along Caroline street - stop by to grab a malt and sandwich while shopping.

Foode

900 Princess Anne Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401

A favorite of Madalyn's - a beautiful restaurant with fresh and delicious food! Take a short walk from Caroline Street up to Princess Anne and stop to admire the historic churches and buildings of Fredericksburg before grabbing a tasty lunch at Foode!

Hyperion Espresso

301 William Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401

Best coffee in downtown Fredericksburg. It is rumored that many former presidents would travel to Fredericksburg to grab coffee at Hyperion. It sits right across from Ava Laurenne Bridal where Madalyn purchased her wedding dress!

Umi Japanese Cuisine

Grab brunch at a local favorite! It sits only a few steps away from our wedding venue.
