Twentynine Palms is a small town just outside Joshua Tree National Park. The closest airport to Twentynine Palms is Palm Springs (about a 45 min drive), LAX is about a 2.5 hour drive and Las Vegas is a three drive through the Mojave Desert (highly recommend this route as it partially passes through route 66).
