A story of basketball...... with a hint of love. We go way back. Our story began with lots of car rides, car kisses, movie dates, and a heck of a lot of basketball. We've shared sicknesses, successes, failures. Our love has tackled many miles and many states. My main reason for being his girlfriend was so that I could get better at basketball. His reason for being my man - I made him a lot of cookies. To keep it simple we were just two 15 year olds who fell in love. The best part of it all, is that he loves me like Jesus. The Bible states in 1 Corinthians, " Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." Replace the word "love" with "Ashton," and you've got a pretty accurate representation of who this man is. I remember this past summer, getting off the phone with this man and talking to my Grandma and Aunt. I was almost in tears as I told them that this man was so wonderful. I asked my grandma what I was supposed to do, she said, "Mackenzie - great guys like that are really hard to come by." And here we are! ** Shout out to our parents for giving us a million rides! We managed to see each other pretty much very single weekend while in high school. Except one - we were sick. We would also like to thank our parents for always guiding us in a direction of understanding and love. We are very thankful for our parents, because they are the ones who showed us what it takes to make a wonderful relationship work, and the sacrifices and hardships that come with a wonderful partnership.
