Mackensie and Miles owe their story to their mom's, Patti Miller & Carrie Sanchez, who quickly became work best friends at ComputerLand in Pleasanton CA in 1983. Our mom's remained friends through the years, keeping in touch as their families grew. Mackensie and Miles met for the first time at 3 years old while The Miller's were visiting The Sanchez's in Seattle, Washington. The next time Mackensie and Miles saw each other was May 2004 (at 5 years old) in Livermore, California when the Sanchez's were in town for a soccer tournament. Years go by, addresses and home phone numbers get lost, and before we know it, 16 years have gone by and it is 2020. Sometime during 2020, Patti and Carrie connected over Facebook and made the connection that The Sanchez Family had moved just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Coincidentally, Mackensie had just graduated from San Diego State University and was moving from San Diego to Charleston SC for her post-grad dietetic internship program during Summer 2020 and would be stopping in Atlanta area on their way to Charleston. Mackensie & Patti met with Carrie, Dennis, and Miles' little brother, Cooper, for lunch and immediately reconnected as if no time had passed. Miles played men's soccer at Oregon State University and was in the middle of pre-season in Oregon and was not at this lunch, but received his mom's phone call after lunch that included updates on Patti and her daughter Mackensie. To keep a long story short (not doing a great job at this), Carrie put in a good word, and a year later Mackensie and Miles re-met for the first time in 17+ years, and fell in love. Mackensie and Miles did a year of long-distance from Charleston to Nashville TN (while our friends would joke it was barely long-distance since Miles was always visiting Mackensie in Charleston, thank goodness for remote jobs!). After that year of distance, Miles moved to Charleston in Summer 2022 where they moved in together, which leads us to February 2024, when Miles popped the question and Mackensie couldn't have said yes any louder (literally). And now here we are! Mackensie and Miles cannot wait to celebrate their love with you.
